Biography

Thanu is a recent addition to the Firm and holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons) from the prestigious University of London and had successfully attained her Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP) with Honours. However, inspired by her passion in education, she initially elected to embark on a teaching career which spun for several years where she was a lecturer in law and business at two distinguished private colleges in Malaysia.

 

Throughout her early year of pupillage in a well-established boutique law firm in Kuala Lumpur, she assisted the partners and legal assistants in various areas of law relating to civil and commercial litigation matters encompassing contractual disputes, tortious claims and debt recovery matters; family and succession laws such as obtaining grants of probate or letters of administration, divorce and other related matrimonial matters.

 

However, her thirst for the law and practice would soon see her then being involved in non-litigious matters as well which included drafting, reviewing, vetting and amending as well as advising clients on corporate and commercial contracts and as well as handling real-estate conveyances such as sale and purchase of properties, tenancies, and perfection and discharge of charges.

 

In keeping to her belief that good lawyers should be an ‘all-rounder’, she then took it on herself to volunteer and assist in other matters of the law relating to employment and industrial relation disputes as well.

 

Beyond performing her responsibilities in the Firm, Thanu actively engages in community service through her participation in activities organized by Rotary Clubs. She further showcases a balanced and diverse approach to both professional and personal endeavors by baking cakes and pastries.

 

Her addition to the Firm is a welcomed one as she brings with her an abundance of experience, legal knowledge and expertise in the legal field.
